Civic Chorale of Greater Miami to present program on ‘food’

Join the Civic Chorale of Greater Miami, a community choir made up of local amateur and professional singers, on Sunday, Oct. 19, 4 p.m., for its fall program, “Food Glorious Food!,” that highlights the sensory friendship between music and food. The concert is at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 14260 Old Cutler Rd. in Palmetto Bay.

Hear a selection of diverse choral pieces, such as Coffee Break by Mark Ford, a unique piece written for four different sizes of paper coffee cups with lids and sleeves. Music is everywhere and, of course, coffee has rhythm! At popular coffee shops, the sizes of cups are called Short, Tall, Grande and Venti. Coffee Break also features one medium Frappuccino cup with lid and straw. This theater/percussion work is designed for males to play the first four parts and a female to play the fifth percussion part.

Cost to attend the concert is $25 for adults, $18 for seniors, $15 for students and free for children 6 and under. Tickets can be purchased online.
