Coconut Grove Arts Festival Prepares for 50th Anniversary

Biker fans from Milwaukee to Rome and in dozens of other cities all across the globe will commemorate 110 years of Harley- Davidson® classic motorcycles and classic good times. History buffs are preparing a trip to Pennsylvania to honor those that fought and lived through the battle of Gettysburg for its 150th anniversary. And classic literature enthusiasts will be reminded of why Pride & Prejudice still ranks high on best seller lists, as it celebrates its 200th.

But right here at home, we have something very special to talk about.

The Coconut Grove Arts Festival® – the longest ranking #1 outdoor arts festival in the nation, will be celebrating its 50th anniversary this upcoming President’s Day Weekend, February 16- 18. Hosting more than 380 international artists, who will exhibit their finest work in categories including clay, watercolor, sculpture, painting, photography, jewelry and metalwork, fiber, mixed media, print making and drawing, glass and wood.

Not to mention, this year’s entertainment will also include live musical performances by music sensations such as Cris Cab and special presentations by beloved culinary geniuses, such as Chef Giorgio Rapicavoli of Eating House.

“The Coconut Grove Arts Festival is honored and excited to celebrate this memorable occasion,” said Coconut Grove Arts Festival President Monty Trainer. “This 50th anniversary means so much more than just 50 years. We are proud to commemorate its history, especially the impact it has had on the South Florida community, as it has dedicated its efforts to showcasing the arts in all of its forms – visual, musical and culinary – right here in our own backyard. We expect another 50 years of this wonderful tradition.”
