The Falls Shopping Center, 8888 SW 136 St., will ring in this holiday season on Saturday, Nov. 22, with the 18th annual “Miracle on 136th Street” holiday parade that promises to be bigger and better than ever.
Local dignitaries and celebrities will ride in vintage and convertible cars during the parade. Open free to the public, this year’s holiday parade will be led by celebrity grand marshal Peyton List of The Disney Channel’s Jessie series and will benefit the South Dade YMCA Family Center.
“The Miracle on 136th Street” holiday parade is attended annually by more than 20,000 residents. The parade features local marching bands, bagpipers, stilt walkers, junkanoos, giant puppets, holiday character favorites, Dixieland bands, community groups and internationally recognized costumed characters.
Following the parade, The Falls will be illuminated by hundreds of thousands of lights, showcasing giant animal topiaries, elaborate water elements and more in the shopping center’s gardens and waterfalls. Santa will take up residence, so be sure to have your photo taken with Jolly Old Saint Nick on Center Court at the Santa House.
Celebrity grand marshal Peyton List will take the stage on Center Court at 6:30 p.m. to perform joyous holiday music. Guests will enjoy entertainment, including a magical snow globe performance, belly dancing and more, near Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s.
Additionally, retailers will offer great holiday shopping opportunities, instore promotions and specials, many of which are included in The Falls Holiday Coupon Book. Visit Simon Guest Services at The Falls for more information.
Spectators are encouraged to arrive early and line both sides of the parade route before the 4 p.m. start. The parade route, which is located on the Boulevard in between the center and the parking lot, will start at the east end of The Falls, in front of Bloomingdale’s and traverse the entire length of the center, west to Macy’s.
