Payless ShoeSource, in partnership with Miami Dolphins player Ronnie Brown’s The Ronnie Brown Project and the Overtown Youth Center, hosted its third annual “Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids” Miami event on Dec. 14 at the Payless store in the Shops of Midtown Miami.

A group of children from the Overtown Youth Center enjoyed a great holiday shopping trip with Ronnie Brown like no other.  The kids were able to select a new free pair of shoes, which ranged from stylish sandals to sneakers and even sport cleats.

Once they all received their shoes, the children enjoyed spending time with Brown and taking pictures, and all were grateful for this experience which was seen through their smiles and their many “thank yous” to the Payless staff and Brown.

Payless first launched the “Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids” program domestically in 2008 through a unique grassroots approach by partnering with local non-profit partners throughout America to join in the campaign to give away $1 million of free new shoes. In 2009, Payless extended the program beyond the U.S. to reach families in Canada, Puerto Rico and 10 Latin American countries, delivering more than $1.2 million in free shoes to children of families in need this holiday season.

This is the third year of the Payless program, which has given a total of $3.4 million in free shoes to children in need through more than 800 charitable partners selected to be part of the Payless Gives program this year.
