The Barnacle Society presents Books, Birds and Boats at the Barnacle

In celebration of Adult and Family Literacy Month, the Historic Barnacle is hosting a Barnacle, Books, Birds and Boats event for families to come together and share a good book in the shade. On September 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., families are encouraged to pack their picnic baskets and bring a comfy blanket to enjoy the outdoors by the bay. The event will offer educational activities, ranger story time, games and prizes for the little ones to enjoy.

The Barnacle, built in 1891, is the oldest house in Miami still in its original location. This historic home of Coconut Grove pioneer Ralph Middleton Munroe is now a Florida State Park and is located at 3485 Main Highway in downtown Coconut Grove across from the Coconut Grove Playhouse. Its great location by the Bay makes it a perfect place for families and friends to come and enjoy the outdoors.
