Arc Broward announces that Jennifer Stewart joins the organization as vice president of philanthropy and is responsible for fundraising and development in support of Arc Broward’s mission to provide opportunities for people with disabilities and other life challenges to realize their full potential.
With more than 20 years of experience as a fundraising professional serving nonprofit organizations throughout Broward County, Stewart will be responsible for leveraging philanthropic support and engaging with funders and the community at large.
“Jennifer’s decades of experience and proven track record of success at several of South Florida’s vital nonprofit organizations will make her a valued member of the Arc Broward team,” said Arc Broward President and CEO Julie Price. “We welcome her leadership and look forward to the contributions she will make as we work toward positive change on behalf of individuals with disabilities and life challenges.”
Stewart served most recently as executive director of Seafarers’ House at Port Everglades, one of the busiest seafarers centers in North America. Prior to her tenure at Seafarers’ House, Stewart served as chief stewardship officer for the Community Foundation of Broward and as development director for Children’s Harbor in Pembroke Pines. She has also held positions with Women in Distress in Fort Lauderdale.
Stewart holds a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from Florida International University. She is a graduate of Leadership Broward and was recognized as the 2014 Outstanding Fundraising Executive by the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Broward County.
