The Area Agency on Aging of Broward County (AAABC) hosted its 44th Annual Installation Dinner on Wednesday, February 11 at the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale West Hotel, bringing together business leaders, elected and appointed officials and community advocates to celebrate leadership, volunteerism and the partnerships that make AAABC’s mission possible.
The evening recognized the service and commitment of AAABC’s board of directors, advisory council and community partners. AAABC also welcomed its 2026 board inductees.
Sincere appreciation was extended to all sponsors who made the event possible, including The Carl Shechter SWFP Community Center, Florida Community Care, North Lauderdale Proud and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami, Inc.
“Honoring our community partners, both inside and outside our organization, who have made exceptional contributions was a true privilege,” said Charlotte Mather-Taylor, CEO of AAABC. “Their insights, expertise and volunteer spirit have enriched our programs and strengthened our collaboration to continue championing the vital services needed for older adults across Broward County.”
This year’s recipients included Corporation of the Year: Amazon; Project Leader of the Year: Lisa G. Goldberg, Esq., Executive Director, Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida; Volunteer of the Year: William Edelstein; 40 Years of Full Fair Share Contributions: City of Sunrise; 30 Years of Full Fair Share Contributions: Broward County; Town of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea; City of Tamarac; 20 Years of Full Fair Share Contributions: City of Lighthouse Point.
The Agency is also requesting nominations for the 42nd annual Dr. Nan S. Hutchison Broward Senior Hall of Fame. This special recognition honors individuals, 60 and older, who have demonstrated exceptional volunteer work in Broward County for five or more years. The deadline for nominations is Monday, April 6.
