Bonnet House Museum & Gardens is proud to announce the appointment of Monica Morrissey as its new Chief Development Officer. A dedicated advocate for the arts and a passionate supporter of Bonnet House, Morrissey brings years of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and community engagement to this pivotal role.
As Chief Development Officer, Morrissey will focus on strengthening connections with Bonnet House members, broadening community outreach, and fostering collaborations with community partners to enhance the museum’s programs and resources. With her passion for the arts and dedication to preserving Bonnet House’s unique history, Morrissey is poised to help lead the organization into an exciting new era.
“Bonnet House is entering an exciting phase of programmatic growth and is currently finalizing plans to improve its infrastructure to meet the needs of an expanding visitor base. Fundraising and contributed revenue will be critical to the Museum’s future, and Monica has the right skill set to help bring Bonnet House to a new level of excellence and community recognition,” said Bonnet House Museum & Gardens CEO Patrick Shavloske. “The Bonnet House board of directors and I are thrilled to have Monica’s participation in writing the next chapter of our story.”
Prior to joining Bonnet House, Morrissey served as the Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer at John Knox Village in Pompano Beach. Monica has a long-standing relationship with Bonnet House, having served on its Board of Directors for several years. During her tenure, she played an instrumental role on the Governance Committee and established an ongoing partnership with John Knox Village of Florida, Inc. This partnership not only deepened Bonnet House’s ties to its community but also expanded its audience to include older adults and members of the LGBTQ community. These efforts have enhanced volunteerism, programming, and inclusivity at the historic estate.
“It’s an incredible honor to be working for Bonnet House, a place I hold so dear,” said Monica Morrissey. “There’s so much to look forward to, and I’m committed to ensuring its legacy is preserved, nurtured, and shared with residents and visitors from around the globe.”
