Distinguished Alumni of Broward Schools Who Demonstrate a Positive
Community Impact and Champion Education To Be Honored
Broward Education Foundation, the only 501(c)3 charitable organization solely dedicated to serving students and teachers in Broward County Public Schools, announced it is accepting nominations for its 2025 Hall of FameAwards. The annual event recognizes graduates of Broward County Public Schools who have made significant contributions to the community, their profession and education.
If you know of a deserving community leader or a champion of education, please nominate them at browardeducationfoundation. org/nominate on or before August 29, 2025.
Honorees will be recognized in the following categories:
- Community Achievement Award, presented to alumni who have made significant achievements in any field
- Education Achievement Award, presented to alumni who have dedicated their careers to public education
- Bravo! Award, presented to an alumnus who has made an indelible mark in the community
“It’s truly inspiring to celebrate the remarkable achievements of Broward County Public Schools graduates, whose selfless contributions continue to uplift our community, advance education, and make lasting impacts in their respective fields,” said James A. Knapp, President & CEO of Broward Education Foundation. “We are proud to honor these exceptional individuals by inducting them into the Broward Education Foundation Hall of Fame.”
Broward Education Foundation will host the 2025 Hall of Fame Awardson Friday, December 5, 2025 from 7:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Fort Lauderdale Baptist Church.Reminiscent of the Hollywood Walk of Fame in California, Broward’s distinguished alumni will be honored with large, engraved granite stars on the BrightStar Credit Union“Walk of Fame” permanently located at the Broward County Public Schools District Office, 600 S.E. Third Ave., Fort Lauderdale.
Broward Education Foundation’s distinguished 2024 Hall of Fame honorees included Torey Alston, President of Broward College; Sandra Veszi Einhorn, CNP, Executive Director Coordinating Council of Broward and Nonprofit Executive Alliance; Jamonica Rolle, College Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs at Broward College; Shawn Aycock, Principal, Pines Middle School, Boyd Anderson High School; Darrell Hardge, President, New Dimension International Training & Consulting; Paul Megna, Teacher, Cooper City High School and LTC Kenneth Green.
