Spring 2025 grade is a national recognition for commitment to patient safety
Broward Health North and Broward Health Coral Springs have each earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog organization. This top grade reflects excellence in protecting patients from preventable harm and delivering safe healthcare.
Leapfrog assigns letter grades from A to F to hospitals nationwide, evaluating performance across more than 30 measures focused on patient safety. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only national rating system dedicated exclusively to how well hospitals prevent medical errors, injuries, accidents and infections — serious risks that cause more than 500 deaths daily in the United States. Developed with guidance from a national panel of experts, the grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice a year, in the spring and fall.
“We are honored to receive an ‘A’ grade from The Leapfrog Group,” said Kristen Bowman, Chief Executive Officer of Broward Health Coral Springs. “This recognition reflects the tireless dedication of our physicians, nurses and staff who are committed to patient safety each and every day.”
CEO of Broward Health North, Matthew K. Garner, also emphasized the significance of the achievement. “Earning an ‘A’ for the third consecutive time shines a spotlight on the incredible dedication of our team at Broward Health North,” he said. “Every team member plays an important role in building a culture of safety and excellence. We are proud to be nationally recognized for our commitment to the highest standards of patient care.”
