Event celebrates achievements of individuals with disabilities in the workplace, honors community partners for significant contributions toward a more inclusive Broward business community

Members of Arc Broward’s Business Advisory Council attend last year’s InspHired Luncheon in Fort Lauderdale: Marcus Amos, Adam Corin, Andrew Garnett, Mari Delgado, Chad Clark and Micheal Wild.

More than 300 business leaders and community advocates who share a passion for empowering people with disabilities will gather during National Disability Employment month at the Arc Broward InspHired Awards, presented by UKG on Friday, October 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bahia Mar in Fort Lauderdale.

The third annual event celebrates the achievements of individuals with disabilities in the workplace and honors those who make significant contributions to the local business community through inclusive hiring practices. Local employers who champion inclusive workplaces as well as those with disabilities pursuing meaningful careers will be honored.

“Our InspHired Awards Luncheon has quickly become one of Arc Broward’s signature events, bringing much needed awareness to the impact our graduates and workforce participants continue to have in the local business community,” said Julie Price, Arc Broward president and CEO. “We look forward to recognizing them along with our community partners who go above and beyond to demonstrate the wide-ranging benefits of hiring a diverse workforce.”

Held during National Disability Employment Awareness Month, the event’s proceeds help transform the community by funding high-quality education and intensive workforce programming, ensuring that individuals with disabilities can thrive on career paths that promote self-sufficiency.

“By bringing attention to our workforce programs that benefit employers and workers alike, we hope to create even more opportunities for people with disabilities to pursue meaningful careers,” said Price. “Employers who partner with us gain access to a pre-qualified pool of job candidates with disabilities who are eager to contribute to the company’s growth. In addition to bridging the labor participation gap, companies report increased workplace productivity, higher revenues, greater job satisfaction figures and enhanced employee loyalty and retention. It’s a win-win.”

Arc Works offers comprehensive programs to help participants break down potential barriers to success and equip them with the tools and resources needed to thrive. From employment assistance to post-secondary education and financial literacy training, high-intensity bundled services are tailored to meet the unique needs and aspirations of each participant and set them on a path toward sustained self-sufficiency, asset accumulation, and poverty alleviation.
