Neurologist Eduardo D. Zamora, M.D. has joined Holy Cross Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician-employed group of more than 180 physicians providing services throughout Broward County.

Dr. Zamora’s focus areas include Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, Parkinson’s disease, ALS and other neurodegenerative disorders as well as general neurology, multiple sclerosis, stroke, epilepsy, migraine headaches, trigeminal neuralgia, Botox for neurological disease, tremors, radiculopathies, plexopathies, carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar neuropathies, peripheral neuropathies and restless leg syndrome.

Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Zamora most recently served as Director of the Neurology Center of Excellence and prior to that was Director of the Inwood Neurology Clinic at Berkeley Medical Center, both in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

Dr. Zamora earned his medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He completed a fellowship in neuroscience at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and later completed a fellowship in neuropathology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland and accepted a junior faculty position there. During his fellowship, he earned an Excellence in Research Award for studying a new model of vaccine for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. He later obtained a senior research position at National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland to do research on mental diseases and performed clinical training in dementias at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.

At George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C., Dr. Zamora completed a residency in neurology and internship in internal medicine as well as a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology. While there, he received the Platt Award.

Multilingual in English, Spanish, German and Italian, Dr. Zamora has given lectures and presentations throughout the United States and Argentina on topics such as Alzheimer’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and other diseases. He is a member of the U.S. Society for Neuroscience, American Association of Neurology and American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

Dr. Zamora will be part of the multi-disciplinary team at the Phil Smith Neuroscience Institute at Holy Cross Health that is dedicated to improving patient care in the different areas of neurology and neurosurgery. It performs comprehensive stroke care, neuro interventional radiology, epilepsy monitoring, ALS care and more. The Phil Smith Neuroscience Epilepsy Monitoring Unit is recognized by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers as a level 3 epilepsy center, which recognizes professional expertise and facilities that provide the highest-level medical evaluation and treatment for patients with complex epilepsy. Holy Cross is also one of the select few Florida hospitals with the 3 Tesla MRI that allows physicians to see direct activation of brain areas, enabling precise diagnoses in the areas of stroke, tumors, epilepsy and spine disorders.
