Lane closures expected near the intersection of University Drive and Orange Drive
The Town of Davie Utilities Operations Department is conducting a sanitary sewer improvements project at the existing sewer force mains north of the intersection of University Drive and Orange Drive (east side of the road). Lane closures will occur beginning February 18, 2025, and are anticipated to conclude on February 27, 2025.
Work will be performed by Murphy Pipeline Contractors, Inc. The contractor will use open cut installation methods to replace the sanitary sewer force mains. These methods will limit the disruption of traffic. Please note that there will be no sewer service interruptions while work is performed.
Affected Areas (see map):
- Intersection of University Drive and Orange Drive
What to Expect:
- Outdoor Noise – Construction sounds are expected to be produced by operating equipment necessary for the sewer force pipe replacement.
- Traffic Disruptions – While construction crews are performing work, residents will experience traffic delays.
- One northbound lane of University Drive will be closed during the day and two lanes will be closed at night. The closures will begin south of Griffin Road and conclude north of Orange Drive.
- Orange Drive (westbound) will be closed from SW 78th Drive to University Drive. Residential access to University Drive from Orange Drive will be temporarily detoured to Griffin Road during construction. The eastbound lane will be open for local traffic.
- Access from University Drive to businesses, local residences and bus stops will remain open.
