LUIS ENRIQUE, ALBITA AND BONNY CEPEDA TO HEADLINE THE MIRAMAR LATIN MUSIC FESTIVAL TO KICK OFF HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

The City of Miramar announced that they will kick off Hispanic Heritage Month which is celebrated September 15 to October 15 each year with their annual signature event, the Latin Music Festival hosted by Vice Mayor Yvette Colbourne. This will be a free event jam-packed with Latin musical giants for a night of salsa, merengue, bachata, reggaeton and much more.  The event will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 7pm to 11pm at the spacious 5,000 capacity Amphitheater at Miramar Regional Park located at 16801 Miramar Parkway, Miramar, FL 33027.

The concert will be headlined by Luis Enrique who has had several gold and platinum albums, numerous Grammy nominations and many other awards such as ACE, Golden Globe, Lo Nuestro, Aplauso, and more, earning him the nickname “El Principe de La Salsa” (the prince of salsa). He won a Grammy Award in 2020 for Best Tropical Latin Album for “Ciclos” and is known for his hit song, Yo No Sé Mañana.

Other performers confirmed include Grammy and Emmy Award winning Cuban artist, Albita (Ta’ Bueno Ya) who was featured in the book “Women” by world-renowned photographer, Annie Leibovitz. Bonny Cepeda, whose album “Noche de Discotheque” was nominated for a Grammy Award will delight the audience with merengue and bachata and Dominican artist John Luis (Ni Idea) will keep guests on their feet with his reggaeton beats.

Free registration for the Latin Music Festival is available at LatinMusicFest2022.Eventbrite.com. There will be food vendors serving up your favorite Latin dishes and merchandise vendors offering their products for sale.

Vice Mayor Yvette Colbourne, who was born in Panama stated, “I am looking forward to celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with our residents of all backgrounds and ages at our beautiful Amphitheater. Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate with our families as we share in the wonderful signature dishes from our homeland and enjoy the sights and sounds that pay homage to our diverse heritage. I invite the entire community to come out and join me for a night of non-stop fun and excitement.”
