Pediatric patients receive toys, puzzles, books, blankets and more
To lift the spirits and bring comfort to pediatric patients and their families at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, Florida, Broward County Property Appraiser Marty Kiar’s Outreach Program in partnership with Rita Case, president CEO of the Rick Case Automotive Group, and Ron Cacciatore, Director of Professional Standards and Compliance for the Broward County Property Appraiser’s office, visited with them delivering a sleigh filled with gifts.
“We collect books, toys, blankets and more for these children and their families who are going through so much. It’s particularly difficult this time of year,” said Case. “If we can bring them some comfort with a blanket and a book or a toy, it makes what we do all worthwhile.”
The toys, puzzles and books will keep families entertained and young minds stimulated during this period of healing and crib sheets, blankets and socks will keep patients comfortable and warm.
“We appreciate Rita, Ron and Marty for their kindness and for always keeping our kids top of mind for comforting and fun experiences like this,” said Caitlin Stella, CEO of Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. “Today is extra special since the holidays are so hard on our families. We are so grateful for their ongoing support of the hospital and those we care for.”
The Broward County Property Appraiser’s Outreach Program aims to provide joy to the most vulnerable population during their most difficult times, support local communities and make a positive difference in the lives of all who call South Florida their home.
“We are continually humbled by the generosity of our community,” said Kelley Morris, President of Memorial Foundation and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Our mission is to ensure patients have access to the highest quality care, and philanthropy makes that possible. Together, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of those who rely on the Memorial Healthcare System.”
