Hundreds of local families came together this past Saturday morning for the River Cities Back to School Backpack & Resource Fair held at Miami Springs Senior High School. The event provided free school supplies, backpacks, and access to vital community resources ahead of the 2025–2026 school year.

Hosted by School Board Member Danny Espino (District 5) in partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, The Children’s Trust, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Natalie Orbis Milan (District 6), the River Cities, and community sponsors including GEMRT Foundation, the Consulate General of Israel in Miami, RPA, and MegaTV, the fair brought together students, parents, and local service providers to help prepare students for a successful year.

“It was inspiring to see the community come together to support our students and families,” said Danny Espino, School Board Member for District 5. “Every child deserves to start the school year with confidence and the tools they need to thrive.”

Children received free backpacks filled with essential school supplies, while parents connected with local organizations offering educational, health, and family support services. The event highlighted the power of community partnerships and the shared commitment to educational equity and access.

The River Cities Back to School Backpack & Resource Fair reflects an ongoing effort to eliminate barriers to learning and promote school readiness across the River Cities region.
