Tomorrow’s Rainbow, a leading non-profit organization specializing in grief and trauma support for children and families, is excited to announce a groundbreaking partnership with Leadership Broward Class 42. Together, they aim to extend mobile mental health services to underserved communities in Ft. Lauderdale, fostering healing and resilience.
This collaboration leverages Tomorrow’s Rainbow’s expertise in grief support with the commitment and community leadership of Leadership Broward Class 42 to address the critical need for accessible mental health services in marginalized areas. The initiative is set to kick off in March 2024, and the organizations anticipate making a meaningful impact on individuals facing grief, loss, or adversity within these communities.
The mobile programs, Grief on the Go and the Tomorrow’s Rainbow Coping Academy, will provide a compassionate and supportive environment for children coping with loss and adversity, using innovative and evidence-based approaches, with the help of miniature horses. By taking therapeutic interventions directly to the communities that need it most, Tomorrow’s Rainbow and Leadership Broward Class 42 strive to break down barriers to mental health care. The initiative will not only bring emotional support, problem solving and coping skills to children ages 6 to 17, but it also introduces the therapeutic benefits of horses for at-risk youth. Tomorrow’s Rainbow boasts an impressive herd, including twelve miniature horses, two miniature donkeys, two standard horses, four goats, and a beloved pig named Floyd.
Tomorrow’s Rainbow is renowned for utilizing horses, big and small, as part of its equine therapy program, providing a distinctive and effective form of support for grieving children. These gentle and empathetic animals play a crucial role in creating a comforting environment for children to express and process their emotions, fostering healing and resilience.
To ensure the success of this initiative, volunteer Program Facilitators are urgently needed. Individuals passionate about making a positive impact on their community and supporting those in grief are encouraged to join the cause. Volunteer training sessions will be conducted by mental health professionals to equip participants with the skills necessary to build resilience and restore hope.
Tomorrow’s Rainbow and Leadership Broward Class 42 invite the community to join them in this transformative endeavor.
