United Way of Broward County proudly hosted its Annual Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast in May, honoring the incredible individuals and partners who dedicate their time, compassion, and talent to uplifting the community. More than 100 attendees gathered to celebrate the impact of volunteers across key programs like Project EmPOWER, Community Partnership School, Choose Peace Stop Violence, ReadingPals, and the Family Stability Program.
The event recognized outstanding volunteers who went above and beyond in their service, making a meaningful difference in the lives of Broward County residents.
Volunteers had a warm welcome from Maria Hernandez, Chief Program Officer for United Way of Broward County. Attendees were then inspired by a thoughtful keynote address from Eric Chisem, Director of Strategic Partnerships for the Broward County Public Schools.
“These volunteers exemplify what it means to lead with heart and purpose,” said Kathleen Cannon, President & CEO of United Way of Broward County. “Their dedication helps build a stronger, more resilient community, and we are honored to recognize their service.”
