Starting at $38,000, the 2023 Hyundai Tucson Plug-in Hybrid is a great SUV.
It has a 2,000-pound towing capacity produced by a 1.6-liter inline-four turbo charged engine that generates 261 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. As for mileage, it gets 33 miles of electric range and 80 miles-per-gallon equivalent with a charge battery.
So let’s get into the creature comforts: The 2023 Hyundai Tucson PHEV is an easy drive that makes it even easier to charge. It’s got roomy and comfortable seats, plenty of technology including a touch-style infotainment system.
One of the most significant reasons keeping shoppers from considering an all-electric vehicle is range anxiety, and we don’t expect that to change until the public charging infrastructure meets demand. That doesn’t mean you can’t go at least partially electric in the meantime, though. The 2023 Hyundai Tucson Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) is one of the best SUVs that can deliver an EV-like experience without stress over where to charge.
As usual, I look for the performance as a standard feature and the 2023 Hyundai Tucson PHEV brings the goods. You can really feel the 261 horsepower engine, which is quick and handles the curves well. It looks great on the road too because the design is modern and stylish.
The 2023 Hyundai Tucson SEL trim has an 8-inch screen that includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay plus wireless charging. The Limited model has a 10.3-inch display but you have to plug it in. The Limited also offers you Bose sound, a 10.3-inch gauge cluster and you can use your voice commands for making things happen. Pretty fantastic! I have to say that voice recognition is a must. I really enjoy it.
Cargo space is also something to look out for in an SUV. Everyone promises lots of space, but you don’t always get it. In the case of the 2023 Hyundai Tucson, you get 31.9 cubic feet behind the rear seats.
I like the interior design which makes the cabin feel spacious and comfortable. It makes driving a whole lot more fun when you can spread out and enjoy the scenery.
You get high quality cloth upholstery, heated front seats and eight ways to customize the position of the seat. I like making the driver’s seat my own so I love this feature.
I also like that they make attaching child seats easy, with both latch connections and more stuff to lock down the seat in the center. It frees up your mind to enjoy the ride when you don’t have to worry about the child seats.
For my money, the 2023 Hyundai Tucson Plug-In Hybrid is a great drive and a great bargain that helps the planet. Give it a drive and tell me what you think.
