Starting at $58,670, the 2023 Nissan Titan Platinum Reserve is a well-designed pickup truck.
The Platinum Reserve is the top of the line for the Nissan Titan Crew Cab. Inside it feels like you are in the cockpit of an Air Force fighter plane. Mine was all grey inside, which was fine by me. It looks like it can take on the world with me behind the wheel.
I really liked the 8-inch color touchscreen display, which fits in nicely in the main console. The Nissan Titan has Apple CarPlay integration and Android Auto compatibility.
The premium leather-appointed seats come complete with the Platinum Reserve logo, which looks great and ties everything together nicely.
It comes in a crew cab with four doors and an overall length of 229.5 inches. The bed length alone is 5.5 feet, with a vehicle towing capacity of 9,317 pounds.
Delivering that power is a 5.6-liter direct injection gasoline DOHC 32-valve V8 engine that delivers 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. The Nissan Titan gets 21 miles per gallon on the highway and 16 miles per gallon in the city.
The Titan is the only pickup with a 400 horsepower standard Endurance V8 engine, offering more than enough power to tackle tough terrain or big jobs. The responsive 9-speed automatic transmission, standard on all Titan lineup models, complements the V8 engine beautifully, offering a smooth drive. The transmission’s optimized gear ratios enable better acceleration, improved fuel efficiency and smoother shifting.
You’ll also be amazed at the benefits of the available 4-wheel drive, when paired with Nissan’s technology, which was built with off-roading in mind. In the Titan, you can
dial up your grip on the go with available shift-on-the-fly 4-wheel drive. Turn it to 4LO and conquer that small mountain, and then dial it back to 4H when the trail becomes smoother.
If a wheel begins to slip, this system automatically brakes the slipping wheel (or wheels) and sends additional power to those with the best traction. The Nissan Titan also has “hill start assist,” which helps keep you from rolling backwards on steep hills. As you go down, “hill descent control” automatically maintains speed and brake pressure to help provide a controlled descent.
On the outside, the engineers continued the modern style and feel that was perfected on the inside. The tires look amazing on the 20-inch two-tone painted aluminum alloy wheels. The running boards come with chrome accents, which adds to the style of the vehicle, as does the brushed satin-finished front grille.
I really enjoyed driving the 2023 Nissan Titan Platinum Reserve. It was fun and had great performance and power. Give it a drive and see what you think.
