Starting at $32,500, the all electric FIAT 500e is a flexible, fun ride.

First off, you get great colors like rose gold, which reminds me of champagne. There’s also tuxedo black, Inspi(RED), which raises money for AIDS research, and white, all of which are great.

On the inside, you get great options including an oval dashboard that is shiny and bright. The branding on the steering wheel matches perfectly in color and modern styling. There are no frills here, but it works because this is a compact with a big heart. FIATmakes the most out of the space it has.

The rose gold model has mirror accents, embroidered leather-trimmed seats and a bi-color soft-touch steering wheel. The tuxedo black model has a specialized JBL audio system designed to emulate four different types of musical spaces chosen by opera maestro Andrea Bocelli.

For digital visuals, you get a 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with compatibility for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The digital gauge is on a 7-inch display.

For those who aren’t familiar with the FIAT models, imagine if a vehicle from the Disney “Cars” movie came to life and you get the idea. To some degree, the FIAT 500e reminds me of the design tweaks the Volkswagen Beetle underwent, with the design underpinnings of the Italian compact getting what appears to be a flatter profile, but is actually accomplished by creating sharper edges for windows. The design continues its modernization through the incorporation of a grille that looks like it’s smiling. I also like the headlights, which are incorporated into both the hood and body.

The FIAT 500e goes big at the tire level, too. They have striking 17-inch aluminum multispoke wheels that appear to activate when driving around.

As for driving technology, you get parksense for the front and reader, side park assist with 360-degree parking sensors.

The 117-horsepower engine offers 141 miles of driving on battery-only. I also like the charging technology, which can add more than 30 miles of range in a handful of minutes.

For my money, the FIAT 500e is really a great car. The fun quotient when behind the wheel is through the roof and it’s easy to maintain. This is a great option for those looking to downsize and for a college student making their way into the wild world. Give it a spin and tell me what you think.
