Charger Daytona: the electric muscle car without compromise

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

When the words “muscle car” pop into your mind, you likely picture a snarling V-8, raw exhaust noise, a rumble through the pavement, and a distinct silhouette that commands attention. With the new Charger Daytona Scat Pack, Dodge has taken that legacy, flipped the script, and delivered something radically different – an all-electric muscle sedan that still wants you to grin like you’re tearing down a drag strip.

The 2026 Charger Daytona Scat Pack is an all-electric beast. Dodge lists it at 670 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque at top power, with a 0–60 mph sprint in 3.3 seconds. It also has a 271 mile range on a full charge.

Visually, the Charger Daytona carries the bold, aggressive posture you expect: wide stance, dramatic front end, that fast-back liftback silhouette (for the four-door version), and design touches that clearly say “muscle car”. The interior steps into the modern era with digital instrument panels, large infotainment displays, and tech features that are expected of a high-end performance EV.

What’s more, it remains practical – five-seat layout (in the sedan version), decent cargo space and AWD for all-weather chops. So while it may look wild, it’s tethered to reality.

With the weight inherent in large EV architecture, Dodge’s challenge was to retain the muscle-car “feel” –  the result appears to achieve that in many early impressions. What the experience delivers: instantaneous torque, near-silent but visceral acceleration, and a chassis that can handle more than just straight-line runs.

The 2026 Daytona Scat Pack works because it captures the thrill of muscle in a form built for the future. Instant torque and all-wheel drive make it blisteringly fast, but also easy to control and usable every day. Its design and presence still carry that rebellious Dodge attitude, showing that electrification doesn’t have to mean anonymity. The car is practical too, thanks to its roomy interior, liftback versatility, and solid everyday manners. Most importantly, it signals a bold new chapter: proof that American muscle can evolve without losing its identity.

Some purists will miss the visceral growl and vibration of a naturally aspirated V8 – even though Dodge’s sound simulation does an admirable job recreating some of that theater. Range and charging infrastructure remain realities of EV ownership, particularly for those who drive long distances. The added weight from the large battery pack slightly dulls agility compared to lighter gasoline models. And, as with most performance EVs, the cost of entry at $55,000 is steep, reflecting both the technology and the performance on tap.

The 2026 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack is a statement of intent from Dodge, combining the brute force and bold styling of classic American muscle with electric power and modern usability. If you’re in the market for a performance car, are open to electric power but refuse to compromise on presence and attitude, this car is right in your lane. Give it a spin and tell me what you think.
