Orna Security donates instruments to North Miami Beach Sr. High School By Elaine Adler Members of the Aventura Marketing Council/Chamber of Commerce have long been hearing about the many needs of students enrolled at North Miami Beach Senior High School.  The school has a  Community Store where not only the students and their families can select clothing, household goods and even furniture free of charge, but so can the entire community.  It’s a great feeling to know that whatever you donate will be so appreciated and so needed! Belina Nagar, Founder of ORNA Security in Aventura, had already partnered with Biscayne Cove Condo Association to donate clothing and furniture to the NMB Community Store.   When Nagar found out that the school had basically no music programs because they couldn’t afford to buy instruments, she decided to do something about it. She found a source for good used instruments, purchased them and recently presented them to the school with Principal Randy Milliken, Special Education Teacher Veronica Martin and Band Teacher James Lockhart. Martin said, “ In a time when instructional music programs are shrinking or closing down due to budget constraints, the Music Department at North Miami Beach never expected to receive a donation of six clarinets, a flute, four violins, a keyboard and a 32- key xylophone.  This generous donation came from Belina Garazi owner of Orna Security, after she heard that not all the music students at NMB can afford to rent or buy an instrument and the school inventory is badly worn or nonexistent.   Many of these students have had few opportunities to experience live music--they learn about music history and the sound a particular musical instrument should make.  For years,  many of our students have not had tangible instrument experience.  During past performances, they have had to share instruments due to economic hardship.  Ms. Garazi made a commitment to help enrich and support our music program.   On behalf of the students and staff of North Miami Beach Senior we want to express our heartfelt appreciation to Belina Garazi for her support.  We are very grateful for the musical instruments donation and the opportunity to continue the music program for our young people.  We also want to thank Aron Adler for finding these instruments—all of them in great working order--  and the Aventura Marketing Council/Chamber of Commerce for organizing this community effort.”  North Miami Beach Senior High School is located at 1247 NE 167th Street, North Miami Beach 33162. 305.949.8381
