On September 27, 2023, the Doral Bar Association (DBA) Reconnect Breakfast was held at the Intercontinental Hotel at Doral. The event was nothing less than fantastic with lots of energy and a full house as the DBA joined forces to present the event with The Business Forum Group (BFG) and the Doral Contemporary Art Museum (DORCAM). The panel covered the latest economic outlooks for our communities and fielded questions from the audience. A special shout out to Zachariah Evangelista, of Ser & Associates, the newly elected vice president of the DBA who emceed the program. Among the many enjoying the morning were Doral Councilman Oscar Puig-Corve and Councilwoman Digna Cabral; DORCAM’s Marcelo Llobell: CN’s Grant Miller and Gloria Burns; Cheli Grace, author of Book to Millions; Dora Gelova, Ray Lainez, Shirley Lopez, Lilian Ser, Ivette Petkovich, Ron Mann, Carlos Rivero, Renee Negron, and Armando Fernandez, to mention a few.

Most recently the DBA, The Business Forum Group and the Doral Contemporary Art Museum presented another great program on the topic of the monetary policy and the economy with keynote speaker Shari Bower, Vice President & Regional Executive of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta- Miami Branch. That event was sponsored by Air Europa, Global Miami, Intercontinental at Doral and Collection Suites. The event was held at the Federal Reserve Bank and attracted a good crowd. In other Doral happenings, the 18th Annual Hispanic Heritage – Noche de Honor VIP Cocktail presented by Chevrolet and in partnership with the City of Doral was held at the International Mall on Friday, September 29, 2023. A large crowd of Doral VIPs were on hand including Mayor Cristy Fraga and Commissioner J.C. Bermudez to mention a few.

Attendees enjoyed enjoy food from several and assorted local restaurants, fashions, and an amazing floor show featuring Ecuadorian heart throb and recording artist Danilo Parra, and his very talented and beautiful sister, Adriana Parra-Simon, who is coming out with her own album soon. The duo rocked the stage for almost an hour to the delight of the cheering crowd.

Finally, kudos to Doral resident Steven Bradley who rocked it on October 10, as emcee for a Gringo Bingo fundraiser with his sidekick, celebrity DJ Germain. This monthly Coral Gables Woman’s Club fundraiser was moved to Bay 13 Brewery & Kitchen enabling a larger crowd with room to expand for this event that benefits multiple charities throughout the year. The event on October 10, 2023, raised more than $2,600 with more than half the proceeds going to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation and the rest to other charitable efforts including CGWC’s free children dental clinic. Adding to the fun that evening was celebrity DJ Germain (IheartRadio) who always makes a party fun. The next Gringo Bingo at Bay 13 will be held Monday, November 13, 2023, with check in at 6:00 p.m. and bingo from 7 – 9 p.m. Proceeds from this CGWC event will be shared with the Alzheimer’s Association.

Give Miami Day, November 16, 2023, a good time to donate to your favorite charities.

Finally, many are asking how we can help the people of Israel during this troubling time.

One great option is to visit https://www.chabadofkendall.org/ Donations made through that website will help with humanitarian efforts of Chabad centers in Israel that serve a variety of shelters and crisis centers.

Until next time, share your talents, count your blessings, be kind and make a difference.
