Lots of great Halloween activity scheduled on Oct. 30.

In downtown Coral Gables at the Miracle Theatre, 280 Miracle Mile, check out the Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee! The Emmy Award-winning South Florida Youth Symphony is performing in a free concert at 5 p.m. with goodie bags for children in costumes. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.

Down the road, more fun awaits earlier in the day. Drag out you best costumes or put on your creative thinking caps to participate in the Annual Paws4You’s Howl-O-Ween at Pinecrest Gardens from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The gardens will be haunted by four-legged ghouls and their companions for a fun afternoon with tricks and treats, costume contest, a Doggie Fun Zone Agility course, food, drinks, live entertainment, a spooky kids zone and pumpkin patch. Entry is $8 per person online or $10 at gate, Pinecrest Gardens members are free.

That same Halloween Eve night, Oct. 30, at 7:30 p.m., join the hilarity at the annual Coral Gables Woman’s Club Halloween Haunted Mansion Party at the clubhouse, 1009 E. Ponce de Leon Blvd. Enjoy great yummy food treats by R Catering, drinks, dancing, costume contest, and more. Price is $75 per person, or, for non drinkers, $60. Proceeds benefit the club’s free Coral Gables Children’s Dental Clinic. This is always the best Halloween party in town.

Speaking of the GFWC Coral Gables Woman’s Club, the group’s last monthly Gringo Bingo in October raised almost $1,000 thanks to a generous donation by Lynn Bauer and Dr. Hal Wanless. The next date for this monthly event, hosted by Clutch Burger, will be Tuesday, Nov. 9. 7-9 p.m. CGWC will direct these proceeds to the Alzheimer’s Association. RSVP via email to gloria@cnews.net. Save the date. Price is $30 per person.

The Junior Orange Bowl events have started. Members and volunteers recently gathered at Clutch Burger for a social evening giving everyone a chance to share their event’s progress with others. Among the many enjoying the social were Junior Orange Bowl president Samantha Jones, past president/basketball chair Chuck Little, Cecilia Stevenson, Lourdes Isla, Carlos Spencer, Roberta Behrendt Fliss, Anthony Broad, Claire Traeger, Karen Gottlieb and Roberta Behrendt Fliss.

Visit www.jrorangebowl.org for the list of events, times and dates — from cross country, parade and basketball to golf, tennis and creative arts. This is a busy organization of amazing volunteers.

Yet another outdoor charity event scheduled for November has been postponed. Plans to bring supporters together for the annual Epilepsy Florida Walk the Talk while also celebrating the agency’s 50th anniversary have been put on hold because of health concerns surrounding the pandemic. The good news is that dates for upcoming walks are in the works, according to Karen Egozi, president and CEO of Epilepsy Florida. The Walk the Talk pages are now live. Visit www.epilepsyfl.com/walk-the-talk-2021. Karen advises you can go even farther by making a $50 personal donation to ensure you get this year’s 2021 Walk the Talk T-shirt.

Remembering our military — a Veterans’ Day Picnic will take place on Thursday, Nov. 11, 4-6 p.m., at Wayside Park in Pinecrest. The public is invited to salute our brave veterans and Gold Star Families with an Honor Guard presentation, pinning ceremony, wreath ceremony, music, and a complimentary picnic lunch.

Finally, a big thank you to all my friends for their outpouring of love on the death of my husband, John. I am forever grateful.

Until next time, keep making each day count, share an act of kindness every day and stay safe.
