Through July 31, GableStage and Abre Camino Collective has on stage the World Premiere of Rubenology, The Making of an American Legend. This is a heart-warming comedy starring Cuban-American actor Ruben Rabasa, whom Andy Garcia calls “La Gloria de Cuba.”
A man who has been a fixture on Spanish television in Miami, Ruben currently is starring in the Father of the Bride reboot alongside Andy Garcia, Gloria Estefan, and Adria Arjona. This should be a fun show for all.
GablesStage is located adjacent to The Biltmore Hotel. To purchase tickets, visit gablestage.org.
Ruben Rabasa and co writer of the play, Vanessa Garcia, were recently guests on Gloria’s Gab LIVE. To view the show, go to YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNOnwaPQx-s.
Speaking of great shows, country western fans will not want to miss the show running through July 31 at Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables. The show, Hank Williams: Lost Highway, is beautiful musical biography of the legendary singer-songwriter. Hank is one of the great innovators of American popular music and this play covers his rise from Louisiana Hayride to his triumphs on the Grand Ole Opry and then to his eventual self-destruction at only 29.
Look for unforgettable songs like I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry, Move It on Over and Hey, Good Lookin’. For tickets, visit actorsplayhouse.org.
