As October closes and November kicks off, there are so many great events on the horizon.

This year’s luncheon, to be held at the Hilton Miami Downtown, 1601 Biscayne Blvd. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the lunch and awards program will begin promptly at noon. Amateur chefs, first time cooks and professional chefs are invited to compete for the best chili at the Rotary Club of Coral Gables Chili Cook-Off on Sunday, October 30, 1 – 5 p.m.

There are prizes for everything, even table decorations. With live music, bounce house for kids and costume contests, this promises to be a great outing for the family. Chairing this year’s event is the RCCG President-Elect Frank Sexton with founding event Chair and Past President Greg Martini. Volunteers are welcome to contact Yoli Woodbridge to sign up (ywassociates@bellsouth.net,). This is a great way for students to get those volunteer hours needed. For information visit www.chilichillin.com.

Family fun may also be enjoyed at Pinecrest Gardens on October 29th for Paws4You’s 12th Annual Howl-O-Ween at Pinecrest Gardens from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are great activities planned with a doggie fun zone, vendors, tricks and treats, food and drinks and the ever-popular doggie costume parade and contest in the Banyan Bowl. For tickets and information visit paws4you.org/howl-o-ween. Look for Founder and CEO of Paws4You, Carol Caridad, on Gloria’s Gab LIVE show on October 24, 10 a.m. It may also be accessed later at www.communitynewspapers.com.

Finally, on October 25 the Rotary Club of Coral Gables and Coral Gables Woman’s Club had another joint GAME NIGHT fundraiser hosted by Bay 13 in Coral Gables. Despite the low turnout because of weather, thanks to sponsor South State Bank it was a success. Next up for CGWC is their November 9, 7 – 9 p.m. Gringo Bingo which will be hosted by Clutch Burger as always. The Club will share proceeds with the Alzheimer’s Foundation. To reserve space or sponsor the event, email gloria@cnews.net. Tickets are $30 and include 12 game cards, a cover all game for a burger a month at Clutch Burger for a year and many other great prizes.

By the way, CGWC’s October 11 Gringo Bingo brought in more than $1,700 that will be shared with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Until next time, keep making each day count and share an act of kindness every day.
