Miami Christian School students are encouraged to not only achieve great things academically but also to participate in the arts and athletic programs.
Recently, students in the school’s instrumental department distinguished themselves at the Solo & Ensemble Music Assessment by receiving a superior rating and a medal.
Students receiving honors were Alma Lopez – Oboe; Sabrina Llaser – Clarinet; Emily Fernandez – Alto Sax; Joshua Munoz – Trombone, and; Jarid Blanco – Trombone. In addition, Armaan Khiyani received an excellent rating on Snare Drum.
On the sports front, Miami Christian had a very good Autumn season with both Girls’ Volleyball Team and the Varsity Football advancing to State Championship play. Cross Country members ended up in the top five of a number of their meets. The soccer team just kicked off their season with a 5-2 victory over Divine Savior Academy.
Senior athlete and member of the MCS Girls’ Volleyball team Lina Valentino, was invited to participate in the Miami-Dade County Girls’ All-Star Volleyball March held the last week in November with other outstanding volleyball athletes from around the county.
Leading up to Thanksgiving, MCS elementary students sought to remember the first Thanksgiving inviting parents to campus to join them in a lunch on the grounds. Performances, period outfits, and a catered lunch were part of the day’s fun festivities.
