South Florida PBS continues to provide extraordinary experiences that educate, entertain, and strengthen its financial future. On January 14, the organization hosted a VIP preview of its new Titanic Immersive Voyage. President & CEO Dolores Fernandez Alonso joined board members for the official ribbon cutting.
Guests enjoyed themed appetizers inspired by the ship’s maiden voyage, immersive exhibits, virtual photo experiences, and live music reminiscent of the era — all offering a glimpse into what promises to be a memorable attraction. The experience officially opened to the public on January 30 and now joins the popular Pharaoh Immersive Experience, both located in Boynton Beach and well worth the trip.
For news that inspires, Tinkerbell “Tink” Pfeiffer recently returned as a guest on Gloria’s Gab LIVE to continue a powerful conversation that truly could have lasted for hours. Known affectionately as “Tink” — a nickname given years ago by a rabbi who noted her petite frame and blonde hair — the name stuck and perfectly suits her warm spirit. It has since been embraced by everyone from judges to the children of incarcerated parents she helps through Tinkerbell’s Kids.
This second interview focused on Tink’s remarkable life story as an infant survivor of the Holocaust. Her parents fled Poland and she was born in the woods while they hid from the Nazis. After the war, the family returned home only to find it occupied and were met with hostility and slurs, forcing them to leave. They ultimately spent years in a Displaced Persons Camp, where Tink recalls what she describes as a surprisingly happy childhood.
She and her sister were among the only children in the camp — surrounded by adults who had lost their own children — and were showered with love. She remembers matching knitted dresses, birthday celebrations, and a deep sense of community. It was an emotional, eye-opening interview that left a lasting impression. For families of the working poor, providing children with a healthy smile often means choosing between rent, groceries, or dental care. That’s where the Coral Gables Woman’s Club steps in. For more than eight decades, club members have helped children throughout Miami-Dade County regain healthy smiles at no cost to their families.
What began as a project of the Coral Gables Junior Woman’s Club continued when the two clubs merged, evolving into a vital community resource that now provides approximately $225,000 in free dental care annually for school-aged children in need.
The clinic is the primary beneficiary of the club’s ballroom rentals and fundraising efforts.
For decades, the Dr. John T. Macdonald Foundation has been a major supporter, along with many generous donors who contribute on a smaller scale. Following the club’s costly 40-year building inspection and the loss of rental revenue during COVID, ongoing funding is more critical than ever. To learn more or support the clinic, visit www.coralgableswomansclub.org.
To help meet this need, the club is directing proceeds from upcoming events to support the clinic. Monthly Gringo Bingo and karaoke nights at Birdie Bistro continue to raise vital funds, with the next Gringo Bingo set for February 10.
The January 13 event raised approximately $1,600, thanks to longtime supporters Lynn Bauer & Dr. Hal Wanless, Jerome Kavulich, Tom & Kim Davison, EZ Title Service, and 1st Premier Elite Financial Services (Liz and Frank Gamez). Of course, it all began with “the Gringo” himself — Steven Bradley, managing partner of Vivo Sports & Social — who has generously volunteered his time and talent every month since 2019 to support worthy charities.

Looking ahead, the club’s signature spring fundraiser will be a Mother’s Day Tea on May 7, the Saturday before Mother’s Day. Look for more exciting details coming soon.
