This week, enjoy my column in pictures from so many notable events held in just a few short weeks.
The Association of Fundraising Professionals held their annual National Philanthropy Day luncheon to honor deserving individuals and businesses while Coral Gables honored its first and only female Mayor Dorothy Thomson at the Coral Gables Museum with an exhibition on “The Vote that Saved The Biltmore.”
The Rotary Club of Coral Gables resurrected its Chili Cook Off that made a record amount for charity.
Several Florida Federation of Woman’s Clubs held events from the Coral Gables Woman’s Club’s Halloween Party to the Cocoplum Woman’s Club’s Fashion Show, and a district workshop that filled the calendar.
Of course, Gringo Bingo hosted by Clutch Burger on Nov. 9 raised funds for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s that was held recently the FIU Football Stadium.
The Florida Grand Opera started its season and FGO’s Cindy Sadler was recently a guest on my show to talk about the great shows coming up this season. To watch that interview, visit

Both Gables Rotarians and Woman’s Club members are raising funds with a Game Night on Nov. 22 at Bay 13 to help others during this Giving season. CGCW is making food baskets for 30 families and collecting $20 gift cards for the kids cared for by their free children dental clinic while Rotarians are gathering at Chapman Partnership on Thanksgiving morning to serve food.
Lots going on! Share your good work with me at gloria@cnews.net.
Until next time, keep making each day count, share an act of kindness and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
