The Miami Dolphins welcomed more than 60 high school girls flag football programs from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties for the 2026 Girls Flag High School Media Day presented by Gatorade Water at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 7. The event provided student-athletes with access to professional-style programming focused on education, media exposure and athlete development.
Joined by Miami Dolphins fullback Alec Ingold, participants experienced a full media day, including team photos and headshots, press conferences and interview opportunities on dedicated stages. Team-building exercises and informational sessions worked to support their individual growth both on and off the field.
“The way these girls are trailblazing the sport and spearheading it – being leaders within the community here in Florida and across the country – it’s really cool to see them take on that responsibility, enjoy it and run with it,” said Ingold.
Educational programming led by industry experts included NCAA and name, image and likeness (NIL) education, guidance on academic and athletic pathways to college sports, and NIL-focused discussions centered on personal branding. Additional sessions included a USA Football workshop on social media best practices, soft-skills training led by the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) emphasizing leadership and professionalism, and mental health programming focused on athlete well-being and resilience.
“We’re proud to host the 2026 Girls Flag High School Media Day and provide local student-athletes with the experiences, resources and exposure they need to grow and succeed – on and off the field,” said Miami Dolphins Vice President of Community Affairs Kim Miller. “Thanks to partners like Gatorade Water, we’re able to continue empowering our local talent, provide resources for their success and support the continued growth of girls flag football in South Florida.”
Student-athletes also participated in press conferences across three podiums representing Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Local college journalism students and media members had the opportunity to ask questions directly and interact with the athletes.
Following the NCAA’s recent announcement recognizing women’s flag football as an Emerging Sport for Women working towards NCAA championship status, the event higlighted the continued growth of the sport. The 2026 Girls Flag High School Media Day presented by Gatorade Water is part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting girls flag football student-athletes through engagement, education and exposure.
