James Carville, lead strategist for Bill Clinton’s 1992 successful presidential campaign, famously and succinctly explained to campaign workers what voters were really interested in: “It’s the economy, stupid.”
I agree. It’s the food missing from your plate, the lights you struggle to keep on, your child’s college tuition you can’t save for, and the home you can no longer afford. Voters nationwide, especially in Miami-Dade, feel this more than ever.
The Biden-Harris administration has driven up inflation, ruined our economy and failed American families. In just one term, we’ve seen the middle class crushed. Inflation hit a 40- year high under the Biden administration, and prices on everything from food to fuel have skyrocketed.
Between, 2020 and 2024, groceries prices have risen by more than 20%, with staple foods like meat, chicken and eggs priced out of reach for many and the pain doesn’t stop there. Wages adjusted for inflation have fallen, credit card delinquencies are rising, and owning a home is becoming a dream of the past — especially in Miami-Dade, where soaring housing costs created an affordability crisis.
As a Miami-Dade county commissioner, I witness firsthand the struggles faced by our residents. Just this month we’ve hosted multiple food distributions — at one, people braved a torrential rainstorm for essentials like rice, beans and meat.
At another event, we served over 500 families in under an hour. People are desperate, in need, and in distress. Our team is on the ground daily, assisting neighbors tired of this failing economy.
People want solutions, not headlines and TikTok trends. The American people deserve better. What they need — and are asking for — are the solutions Harris and Biden have failed to deliver. Struggling families are wondering: What happened to the economy we had under Donald Trump?
Now, let’s recall the Trump years, when unemployment hit record lows, wages grew and the stock market soared, boosting millions of retirement accounts.
American families kept more of their hard-earned money through Trump’s tax cuts, lifting them alongside our small business community. Energy independence made gas more affordable, helping keep inflation in check.
These policies revived American manufacturing and blue-collar jobs, creating hope and optimism. For Miamians, this meant a better quality of life and a brighter future for their families.
Today’s Biden-Harris policies drag the economy down, stifle growth, and kill innovation. Under Trump, red tape was cut and people were empowered to thrive. We need authentic leadership to wake the sleeping giant that is our economy and unleash it upon the world.
And then there’s Vice President Harris. I believe she is to the left of Bernie Sanders, making her the most liberal presidential nominee in modern history.
Democrats bounced her from the 2020 primaries before a single vote was cast. This time around, party elites anointed her the nominee without a single vote cast. I believe Harris is too radical for America, and her policies will only erode the values and opportunities that made this country great.
Despite what you hear from the mainstream media, Trump’s chances in 2024 are stronger than ever. Voters know they were better off under his leadership and want a president with a proven record of success.
When you vote, ask yourself: Are you better off today than you were four years ago? Which candidate truly represents change?
Don’t just take my word for it — listen to Harris on The View. When asked if she’d have done anything differently than Biden, she responded: ‘There is not a thing that comes to mind…I’ve been a part of most of the decisions that have had impact.’
So, if you’re unhappy with where we are today, don’t expect anything different from Harris.
The choice is clear: Vote for Donald Trump.
