Coral Reef Yacht Club Youth Sailing Team members Ryan Keenan, 17, and Christine Keedy Brown, 17, placed 10th at the 2023 C420 New England Championship Regatta, held at Shelter Island, New York from June 25-June 27. The event featured 74 two-person teams from across the United States and Canada.
Just two weeks later, Keenan, who is the team’s skipper, and Keedy Brown, its crew, followed-up with a 12th place finish among 116 boats at the 2023 Club 420 Association National Championship, this time at Chicago Yacht Club, on Lake Michigan, from July 6-9. They finished just 2 points from another top-10 finish.
Keenan is a rising junior at Cushman School, while Keedy Brown is a rising senior at Ransom Everglades School where she is a member of its renowned varsity sailing team. In the coming weeks, they will be competing further in the 2023 North American Championship (with over 190 teams sailing from around the world), the annual US National Team Race Championship, South Shore (NY) Championship, and 2023 Atlantic Coast Championship.
