During November, world-renown award-wining pastry chef Antonio Bachour will open the doors to Bachour — his new bakery, pastry shop, and full-service restaurant coming to 2020 Salzedo, the mixed-use development that was developed by and houses the Codina Partners headquarters in Downtown Coral Gables.
“2020 Salzedo in Downtown Coral Gables is the ideal location for pastry lovers and foodies from around the world to access and taste my sweet and salty creations at Bachour,” Bachour said.
The 5,000-square-foot space features a combination of industrial, yet chic finishes and seats a total of 75 guests. On the outside, the approximately 2,000-square-foot outdoor courtyard adjacent to the restaurant will provide old world Spanish setting complete with a fountain.
Once indoors, a series of avant-garde style display cases will cover most of the pastry and take out section, while a glass-walled preparation kitchen will allow guests to see the chefs at work. When not used for the production of delectable masterpieces, the preparation kitchen will hold workshops for pastry enthusiasts of all levels.
“We wanted to provide our tenants and customers with a food and beverage experience unlike any other in Miami,” said Armando Codina, executive chair of Codina Partners. “Bachour delivers on that and more making his restaurant and bakery the perfect addition to 2020 Salzedo, where we house our headquarters in downtown Coral Gables.”
On the menu, expect to find the house-baked bread along with elevated versions of classic breakfast, lunch, and brunch dishes. At breakfast, expect to find Bachour’s full-line of viennoiserie, together with egg-based dishes, house-made granola, fruit bowls, and various terrines. At lunch time, expect to find a wide variety of hand-crafted sandwiches and salads, plus a few entrees. All-day brunch on the weekends will offer a combination of both services with expanded options such as brioche French toast and the new Bachour turkey Cuban sandwich, in addition to a broader selection of Bachour’s signature desserts.
“We have curated a food experience that will offer delicacies for discerning palates as well as upscale editions of every day favorites,” Bachour added.
The restaurant will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for breakfast and lunch, Monday to Friday, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (all day) for brunch on the weekends.
“The new concept in the Gables will allow us to offer Antonio’s unique creations to a broader national and international customer base plus will allow him to instruct. It will be the perfect vessel for taking his name and the brand to the next level,” said Bachour co-owner and restaurateur, Javier Ramirez. “We are also very excited about creating a modern and inspiring breakfast, lunch, and brunch menu that will contribute to the growth of Miami’s culinary landscape.”
