WHAT: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, a leading youth mentoring organization, is hosting a Back to School Drive on Aug. 12 to support local students as they prepare for the 2023-2024 school year. The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 550 NW 42nd Ave, Miami, FL 33126. JP Morgan serves as the title sponsor for this impactful initiative.
The Back to School Drive aims to provide essential resources to children and families. Attendees will have the opportunity to receive school supplies, uniforms, haircuts, eye exams, EKG screenings, and books. Additionally, various agency partners will be present to offer parents information on valuable wrap-around services. Littles will also get to enjoy a series of activities, food, and music.
“We believe that every child deserves a strong start to the school year, and our Back to School Drive is designed to ensure that students have the necessary tools and resources for academic and personal success,” said Gale Nelson, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami. “We are grateful for the support of our dedicated corporate partners and the generous contributions from the community.”
The event anticipates approximately 200 attendees, including Littles, their families, Bigs, volunteers, and community members. The Back to School Drive provides a platform for individuals and organizations to make a positive impact on the lives of Miami’s youth.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami is supported by its corporate partners who are running drives as part of this initiative. These partners include Portal Real Estate, JP Morgan, Ryder, Burger King, Eisner Amper, GRYC, Mariners Financial, Hunton Andrews Kurth, Levy Restaurants, and Kaufman Rossin.
