On Saturday, May 17, 2014, the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce hosted its 19th annual Baptist Health Tour of the Gables 5K. The run took competitors on a scenic routethroughout The City Beautiful, beginning and ending in front of Coral Gables City Hall. On this glorious Chamber day, runners began with a pre-run warm-up stretch at 7:00 AM with the official race shotgun start at 7:30 AM, alerting the 800+ runners who competed that itwas time to pound the pavement. With a time of 17:14, Spencer West from Mitchell & West LLC, was the first runner to cross the finish line. Ninety seconds later, the first female, Guadalupe Merlos, crossed, finishing in 18:44 and 7th overall.
