More than 250 guests attended Baptist Health South Florida’s most recent preview reception. The special affair celebrated the 10th anniversary and new home of the Baptist Medical Plaza at Coral Gables, 10 Giralda Avenue.
Visitors were among the first to tour the new state-of-the-art facility featuring diagnostic imaging and urgent care centers.
“We’re very pleased to be able to expand Baptist Health’s outpatient services at this location to include urgent care and additional diagnostic services,” said Patricia Rosello, CEO of Baptist Outpatient Services. “We welcome area residents to experience first hand, the top-quality services now available closer to where they live and work.”
Guests who attended the evening’s reception included Baptist Health executives and the South Florida business community including Mark Trowbridge, president and CEO of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, Coral Gables Commissioner Ralph Cabrera and City Clerk Walter Foeman.
At the Plaza’s urgent care center, highly skilled and compassionate Baptist Health doctors and nurses are available daily, 11 a.m.-11 p.m., to treat minor illnesses such as the common cold and flu, fever, ear ache, sore throat, strains, sprains and more. As an added convenience, certain common medications are dispensed on-site for patients with a prescription. More serious conditions — including chest pain, severe pain or bleeding, loss of consciousness, seizures and stroke symptoms — should be treated at the nearest hospital emergency room. When in doubt, err on the side of caution and call 9-1-1.
Baptist Medical Plaza also has added CT scanning to its wide variety of top-quality diagnostic testing offerings — which include MRI, digital mammography, digital X-ray, ultrasound, bone density (DEXA), electrocardiogram and laboratory services — to its state-of-the-art diagnostic center.
