In recognition of Women’s History Month during March and in alignment with the National Women’s History Alliance’s 2025 theme, “Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations,” Belmont Village Senior Living Fort Lauderdale and Coral Gables celebrate the extraordinary women within their communities.

There are no better storytellers for this celebration than the seniors, who have left — and in some cases, continue to leave — their mark through groundbreaking contributions to various industries or by giving their time to champion meaningful causes. These women serve as inspiring role models, paving the way for younger generations and embodying the spirit of progress and empowerment.

Throughout the month, Belmont Village Fort Lauderdale and Belmont Village Coral Gables will celebrate and share the stories of the extraordinary women in their South Florida communities, including the following:

Amy Kaspar had a distinguished 40-year career in real estate title insurance. As president and CEO, she built her own title research company from a single county in Ohio to operations across three states with 50 employees, ultimately selling it to a Fortune 500 company in 2004.

Serving as a trailblazer in her field, she also was president of the Ohio Land Title Association during its centennial year — the fifth woman to do so — and earning honors such as the OLTA Meritorious Award and Honorary Life Award for leadership and service.
Inspired by women like Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Amy encourages young women to work hard, stay committed, and pursue excellence.

Kitty Vagi had a remarkable career as a chemist, contributing to pharmaceutical research and holding several patents. After fleeing Hungary in 1956, she quickly established herself in her field in Canada and later continued her work in medical and environmental testing labs in Florida.

Passionate about helping others, she was an active member of the Children’s Aid Club for 25 years, tutoring children and supporting fundraising efforts. In her personal life, she was known for her hospitality and love of gardening.

Her advice to women starting their careers: “Fight for everything that you want to achieve.”

Judy Rosenbaum enjoyed a distinguished career in education, beginning as an elementary school teacher before advancing to roles in counseling and higher education administration. She worked with the American Counseling Association in Washington, DC and collaborated with law enforcement to combat fraud in the healthcare industry.

Passionate about service, she has volunteered with the Girl Scouts, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and other organizations. She also played a key role in helping 14 Vietnamese refugees resettle in the U.S. Inspired by Eleanor Roosevelt and her late husband, she advises young women to stand up for their beliefs and foster equality, truth, and kindness.

By sharing stories of their residents, Belmont Village Fort Lauderdale and Belmont Village Coral Gables aim to honor their achievements, inspire others, and educate the community about the vital roles women have played in shaping our world.

On Wednesday, Mar. 19, at 11:30 a.m., Belmont Village Coral Gables will hold “Pearls of Wisdom,” a multi-generational panel of exceptional women to talk about their legacies and what it means to be a woman during this decade. This event will be open to the greater South Florida community.
