Bet Shira Congregation is thrilled to announce the opening of the new location for its preschool, offering an unparalleled educational experience for children in the South Miami Dade area. Our new facility combines a creative Reggio Emilia -Inspired program with a natural, clean aesthetic to create a fresh and engaging learning environment. The preschool is designed for children aged from infancy to Pre-Kindergarten, including a Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) program. Located on the campus of Bet Shira Congregation, Bet Shira’s Preschool is open to all faiths and communities, while providing to all children educational enrichment including Jewish culture and Hebrew language.
With a commitment to excellence in early childhood education, Bet Shira Congregation’s NAEYC-accredited preschool is set to redefine the standard for educational institutions in South Miami Dade. With a Reggio-Emilia-inspired learning environment, and STEAM-focused activities, this new campus will provide children with an immersive learning experience that fosters curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
At Bet Shira Preschool, we take great pride, not only in our appealing classrooms and engaging materials, but also in our commitment to implementing Conscious Discipline practices developed by Dr. Becky Bailey. These practices are seamlessly integrated into every classroom, ranging from our infant program to our VPK program. By embracing Conscious Discipline, we create an environment that promotes social-emotional growth, fosters positive relationships, and cultivates essential life skills in our young learners.
“Children are undeniably the bedrock of our future, and it is both an honor and a source of immense joy to contribute to their growth and well-being. Recognizing that raising a child is a collective effort, we wholeheartedly embrace the idea that it takes a village to nurture and guide them. We have passionately created a home away from home for each child in our preschool. With open arms, we extend a warm invitation to join our school family, fostering a strong connection and an environment where they can thrive.”- Barbara Cartaya Preschool Director
One of the key highlights of Bet Shira Congregation’s preschool is its commitment to providing a naturalistic environment throughout the facility, while offering dynamic spaces dedicated to several key aspects of the children’s experiences, including a curated traditional library space, and an Art/ STEAM center. With carefully chosen materials, thoughtfully designed spaces, and ample access to natural light, the preschool aims to create an environment that promotes a sense of calmness and inspiration for both children and educators.
“Education is central to our tradition. One of the most sacred obligations we have is to teach our children. This investment in early childhood education is an expression of our values and commitment to our future.” – Rabbi Jesse Charyn
Through our dedicated team of teachers and childcare professionals, the preschool’s comprehensive program offers age-appropriate curricula tailored to each stage of early childhood development. Infants, toddlers, and Pre-Kindergarten students will engage in stimulating activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. The preschool also offers a VPK program, ensuring that children receive the necessary foundation to excel in their educational journey.
Our new facility is open and we extend an invitation to everyone to come and explore our classrooms. Enrollment for the Preschool at Bet Shira Congregation is now open, with limited spaces available. Prospective parents and guardians are encouraged to visit the preschool’s website at https://www.betshira.org/
