Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Brazilian Voices, the acclaimed female vocal group, presents “Jazz Across Cultures,” highlighting the importance of jazz as an international language that builds connections and community inclusion through live musical experiences. This concert showcases the multiple influences within Jazz and Pop, both in Brazil and in the US, over the past 60 years.

The theme of the program explores the mutual influence of samba, bossa nova, and American jazz. With the “Girl Choir of South Florida” as special guests, the repertoire will cover songs by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Gershwin, Milton Nascimento, Cole Porter, among others.

Through our “Jazz Across Cultures” concert, we aim to foster mutual understanding, respect, and the exchange of experiences. The heavenly and emotionally moving singing of the Girl Choir promises to elevate the performance to new heights.

“With this collaboration, we intend to bring out the best of our worlds and be part of an important community of talented women in Broward County,” said Loren Oliveira, Brazilian Voices’ project director.

“We are delighted to collaborate with the Girl Choir of South Florida. The girls’ pure voices, under the direction of the energetic Brazilian-American Silvia Aycock, will infuse our performance with a new element and vitality,” said Beatriz Malnic, Brazilian Voices’ music director.

The concert will take place at the Sunrise Civic Center Theatre, located in Sunrise (10610 West Oakland Park Blvd, Sunrise FL 33351) on April 27th at 7pm for general audiences. Ticket prices are set at $20.
