The City of Coral Gables invites kids of all ages to National Kids To Parks Day on Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., for a day full of games, fun sports and exciting activities.
Bring your child (ages 5 to 17 years old) for basketball games at the War Memorial Youth Center, 405 University Drive, from 1 to 2 p.m., or for swimming lessons at the Venetian Pool, 2701 DeSoto Blvd., from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Then from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., children (ages 8-17 years old) can enjoy tennis classes at the Kerdyk Biltmore Tennis Center, 1150 Anastasia Ave.
You also are welcome to participate in the Parks Explorer Quiz, which will test your knowledge about parks. If you answer it correctly, you are eligible for a prize drawing.
A Parks Art Contest will get your creative juices flowing and your artwork will be judged on how well it represents a Coral Gables park. Entries must be submitted by May 18.
