Miami native Chef Chris Valdes is excited to celebrate the one-year anniversary of his self-published, debut cookbook One With the Kitchen at a Twilight Brunch Meet & Greet and book signing to be held April 28th from 6-9 p.m. at Books & Books, 265 Aragon Ave., Coral Gables.
The iconic independent bookstore in the heart of Downtown Coral Gables is the ideal location for the celebration. Mariana Rodriguez of Telemundo’s Accesso Total will host the early evening brunch event. The cookbook, which is part autobiography, part cookbook, follows the story of how the Chef found his voice through food and is perfect for cooks of all levels.
Chef Chris, who rose to fame as a contestant on Food Network Star and is known for his charitable work throughout the city, handpicked a selection of items from the book to serve that evening. Guests are encouraged to bring their copy or purchase one at the event which will culminate with a book signing by Chef Chris.
Being served that evening will be the following delectable bites chosen from the book…
- Chicken & waffles
- Tortilla Española de Chorizo
- Serrano ham and gorgonzola cheese croquettes with guava sauce
- Shrimp ceviche
- Picadillo empanadas with signature garlic aioli sauce
- Pan con bistec bites topped with potato sticks and pickled jalapeño aioli
- Bananas foster French toast bites
- Tres leches
