City celebrating Earth Day with events through April

The City of Coral Gables is celebrating Earth Week now through Apr. 22, culminating with Earth Day on Sunday, Apr. 22.

To highlight the importance of natural resource conservation and environmental preservation, the community is invited to the following events:
Apr. 17, 7 p.m.: Watch the environmental film Racing Extinction about the hidden world of endangered species at Coral Gables Art Cinema. Tickets are $8.

Apr. 21, 9 a.m.-noon: Drop off your hazardous waste and old electronics during the Coral Gables Household Hazardous Waste Collection at City Hall Parking Lot, 405 Biltmore Way. The event is free.

Through Apr. 30: Take the Wyland National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation and a chance to win great prizes. Visit www.mywaterpledge.com.
