More than 600 people participated in a recent Household Hazardous Waste Collection conducted at City Hall’s parking lot, contributing to the collection of 15,800-plus pounds of electronic waste, of which 100 percent is recycled, and 18,900 pounds of household hazardous waste. During the America Recycles Day collection, the city also shredded 3,800 more than pounds of sensitive documents safely and securely on site. The next Household Hazardous Waste Collections in 2018 are scheduled for Saturdays, Apr. 21 and Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to noon.
