Effective Monday, May 2 the City of Coral Gables is managing the Coral Gables Golf and Country Club. The club, the city’s first public building established in 1922, is currently closed while the city conducts a complete building assessment to determine repair and maintenance needs. The goal is to open as soon as possible to serve the needs of residents and members.
Following this assessment, termite tenting will take place which will have a slight impact on the current roofing project. Additional repairs and improvements including on the pool and landscape are also planned, which will enhance and beautify the facility but will not affect the reopening. The current leased fitness equipment will be maintained until the new state-of-the-art Technogym equipment arrives.
“We are working diligently to reopen this facility, said Fred Couceyro, director of the Community Recreation Department which is managing the facility. “We look forward to opening the club to our residents and members.”
The Granada Golf Course and tennis center remain open.
