Stuart Isacoff, author of A Natural History of the Piano: The Instrument, the Music, the Musicians—From Mozart to Modern Jazz and Everything In Between, will be discussing his book at the Steinway Factory Piano Gallery in Coral Gables.
This special 5th Anniversary kick-off reception for Classical South Florida 89.7 takes place on Tuesday, November 13th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and is free to Leadership Circle members and prospective members. Dr. Sanford and Mrs. Beatrice Ziff are the Honorary Hosts.
In addition to being an author, Isacoff is a noted pianist and composer. “Throughout the year, Leadership Circle members have the opportunity to attend a variety of programs including the very popular Classical Conversation series,” said Dr. Claire Crawford, a Major Gifts officer with Classical South Florida 89.7. “Guests will have a chance to socialize with classical music and art lovers and meet Stuart Isacoff; one of the music world’s most outstanding luminaries.”
Classical South Florida 89.7 FM Miami/Fort Lauderdale is a member-supported, nonprofit 501(c) (3) public radio organization dedicated to broadcasting classical music. “Over the past five years, membership has grown to well over 11,000 with average weekly listenership topping 300,000!” said Jason Hughes, Program Director and interim GM.
According to Eugenia Zukerman of the Washington Post, reading Isacoff’s book is “…like listening to a fascinating raconteur who informs and entertains and really knows his stuff. Passion and unstoppable enthusiasm are palpable throughout this beautifully written and illustrated book . . .”
