GFWC FL District 11 director Dr. Ruth Martinez joined members of the CocoPlum Woman’s Club at the Fort Lauderdale Airport to welcome home the most recent Honor Flight taking veterans to Washington, DC, for a tour of the nation’s capital as well as a visit to Arlington Cemetery.
With signs, applause and some tears, the veterans received a welcome home many never received, especially those who served in Vietnam.
District 11 clubs and those throughout the state of Florida still are actively raising funds for the GFWC Florida’s President’s Project, the “Flight to Honor” for female members who are veterans.
