Community Meeting To Discuss Renovation Project at Granada Golf Course

Granada_Golf_Club_-_Granada_371169The City of Coral Gables will be holding a Community Meeting to discuss the renovation project of the historically designated Granada Golf Course. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 9, 2014, at 6 p.m. at the Coral Gables Country Club, 997 N. Greenway Drive.

The City of Coral Gables is proposing renovations to the tees, greens, bunkers, fairways, golf cart paths, and rain shelters on the Granada Golf Course that are planned to be implemented starting in the spring of 2015. In addition to the golf course renovations, the City is developing an overall Master Plan that may evaluate alternatives for further improving the quality, aesthetics, and safety of the Granada Golf Course. A few examples of the types of items that may be evaluated as part of the Master Plan development include alternatives to improve pedestrian safety such as sidewalk improvements and a running path; landscape up-lighting on the large banyan trees; installing drinking fountains and improving the landscape in underutilized areas along the edges of golf course; and potential other improvements that may arise from the workshop.

Representatives from the City will be present to discuss the plans and receive input from residents. For more information, contact Alejandro Gonzalez-Pagan at 305-460-5018.
