Coral Gables artist, resident and gallery owner Humberto Benitez has been commissioned by the Kiwanis of Little Havana to create this year’s poster for Carnaval Miami. His HBenitez Fine Art Gallery is located at 305 Alcazar Ave.
Carnaval Miami’s Calle Ocho Festival is scheduled for Sunday, Mar. 9, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Born in Havana, Cuba, Benitez came to the United States at the age of 11 and his childhood memories are the foundation of much of his inspiration. Benitez donated his original painting to raise funds for the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana and sponsor programs of great impact in South Florida.
