The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce has announced that Jorge L. Arrizurieta has been selected as the chamber’s new president and CEO.
“Mr. Arrizurieta has a long and distinguished history of leadership positions in business, civic and community affairs and is an excellent choice to succeed Mark A. Trowbridge,” said the chamber’s 2025-26 board chair Maria D. Garcia. “We welcome him to the chamber and look forward to introducing him to our membership in the coming days.”
Arrizurieta was chosen following an extensive national search which included approximately 40 candidates. He formally began his duties on Oct. 2.
“I am proud to have been selected as the chamber’s president and CEO, and look forward to contributing to its continued growth and the success of its members,” Arrizurieta said. “It is an honor for me to succeed such an accomplished and beloved leader as Mark Trowbridge.”
Arrizurieta’s professional accomplishments include serving as president and CEO of the Florida Free Trade Association of America, alternate executivedDirector of the Inter-American Development Bank, vice president of Public Affairs for Huizenga Holdings, and chair of the International Policy Group for Akerman Senterfitt. He most recently served as senior executive vice president of External and Public Affairs at Americano Media.
Arrizurieta also held several positions with former Florida Governors Jeb Bush and Charlie Crist, and Sen. Connie Mack. His civic appointments include serving on the State of Florida Board of Governors overseeing the state university system and the Board of Trustees of Florida International University.
His community involvement includes serving on the board of directors for the Orange Bowl Committee, Beacon Council, Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, and Florida Tax Watch. Has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the World Trade Center’s International Achievement Award, Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce International Business Achievement, South Florida CEO’s “Top 101 Global Leaders,” the South Florida Business Journal’s 40 under 40 Award and the Price Waterhouse Up and Comers Award.
